Landing: A Movement Festival
Landing is a festival exploring how dance and movement can help us foster deep, right relationships with land and each other. The festival will take place July 4-5 at Zumwalt Acres in Sheldon, Illinois. The weekend will consist of workshops (movement, writing, and dialogue), a performance, farm meals, and community-building.
Our guiding questions include:
– What does it mean to have deep, reciprocal relationships with land — lands we currently live on, lands that we were raised with, lands that we call home, lands we’re ancestrally connected to, and lands that we aren’t?
– How can dance and movement be a way to build these relationships?
– How can settlers pursue this work while pursuing Indigenous justice and sovereignty?
